Influenza poses a serious risk for older adults. Consequently, all older adults are encouraged to obtain the seasonal flu shot. Flu shots are now widely available. To obtain your flu shot, first contact your primary care physician or go to a local pharmacy, such as CVS or Walgreen's. Flu shot clinics are listed online at www.findaflushot.com. Pharmacist joins S+AGE™ Inter-disciplinary Team We are proud to announce the addition of Janice Hoffman, PharmD to our S+AGE™ Inter-disciplinary team as a pharmacy consultant. Dr. Hoffman received her doctorate from the University of Southern California and is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Instructor at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Hoffman has published and lectured extensively on geriatric pharmacology. Once per week she sees patients at S+AGE™, consulting with our physicians on issues of polypharmacy, and appropriate use of medication. Our patients have already recognized the benefits of working with a doctor-level pharmacist. Dr. Dan Osterweil Honored by The American College of Physicians S+AGE™ Founder and Medical Director, Dr. Dan Osterweil is a newly elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP). According to the ACP, "fellowship is an honor achieved by those recognized by their peers for personal integrity, superior competence in internal medicine, professional accomplishment, and demonstrated scholarship."
